LAKEPORT >> The Lake County Board of Supervisors appointed Eddie Crandall to the vacant District 3 planning commission seat at its regular meeting on Tuesday.

Without objection, Supervisor Jim Steele was able to get his nominee quickly and unanimously approved, 5-0.

Crandall will be replacing Gladys Rosehill, whose personal life forced her to resign in August. He will be sworn in at the commission’s meeting scheduled on Thursday.

“I’d like to tackle issues in the community and the county together,” the Robinson Rancheria Tribal Chair said to the board.

Gate Fees

The BOS also swiftly passed an ordinance to raise fees for Valley and Clayton fire debris dumping at the Eastlake Landfill.

Approved 5-0, the rates are now set to $65 per ton or $7.35 per cubic yard. The prices will remain in effect until the public services department determines they are no longer needed.

They could, however, be reactivated in a future disaster, according to county documents.
