KELSEYVILLE >> Victor Cacho hit the Fort Bragg Timberwolves with two quick goals almost before they stepped off the bus on a warm Tuesday afternoon at Kelseyville High School.

No surprise there. Cacho, who missed all four of the Knights’ non-league games this season with an ankle injury, is making up for lost time now. He scored two more goals Tuesday in Kelseyville’s 6-0 North Central League I win over the Timberwolves, giving the senior 11 goals in his last three games.

Since Cacho rejoined the starting lineup, the Knights are 4-0-1 in league play. While he was out with his injury, they went 0-4 — all non-league games.

Anthony Pantaleon and Sal Barba also scored in the first half as Kelseyville held a 4-0 lead at the intermission. Sergio Arias and Juan Raygoza added insurance goals in the second half.

While the Knights were building a commanding lead in the first half, Fort Bragg couldn’t solve Kelseyville’s defense and had only a couple of meager scoring opportunities.

Pantaleon, a forward to start the season but now a midfielder, bottled up Fort Bragg’s top player, according to Kelseyville coach Eduardo Ledesma.

“He shut the door on their best player,” Ledesma said. “He does the dirty work and guards the best player on the other teams.”

Kelseyville, the two-time defending league champion, has two games remaining in the first half — against Middletown and Clear Lake. The Knights open the second half Oct. 6 at Lower Lake. The Trojans and Knights battled to a 4-4 tie on Sept. 13 in Kelseyville.
