CLEARLAKE >> Three operations by Clearlake police this week netted both growing plants and processed marijuana.

Four people were placed in custody on charges related to illegal cultivation.

The largest haul came on Wednesday, when officers executed a search warrant on a property in the 15900 block of 42nd Ave. in Clearlake. Inside they discovered just 2 pounds of processed marijuana, along with a revolver. However, the lack of furnishing led them to suspect the house had been converted into a larger scale grow.

Outside they discovered 110 plants that appeared ready for harvest. In all, police eradicated approximately 650 pounds of marijuana from the property, said CPD Detective Sergeant Martin Snyder in a media statement.

Earlier in the week officers on a search warrant found 118 mature plants and a semi-automatic pistol, along with three suspects, inside a house in the 15000 block of 29th Ave.

“One male attempted to flee out the rear of the residence, but returned inside after seeing numerous officers in the perimeter of the fence lines,” Snyder said.

An investigation revealed that the weapon was no registered.

Police arrested 27 year old Rafael Carrillo-Contreras, 29 year old Fernando Facio-Almarz, and 25 year old Juan Munoz-Fernandez on suspicion of felony cultivation.

Marijuana had been harvested from a property in the 1300 block of Arrowhead by the time officers executed their warrant. A search of the residence, however, led them to 340 pounds of marijuana drying in the garage.

During this operation, police arrested Hilario Reyes-Deasis, 39, on suspicion of sales and cultivation, both felonies.

“The laws pertaining to cultivation, sales transportation or furnishing will be assertively enforced,” Snyder pointed out.

Anyone with information related to these cases is encouraged to call Detective Cook at 707-994-8251 ext. 315.
