As it happened
It would seam that I did not see the same debate that Bill Wink saw (RB 9-29). In the first question, about the economy, Hillary landed the first blow (to keep up the Rocky theme) by commenting about the millions of dollars Trump received from his father. Trump responded that he had received a very small loan. This ‘small’ loan was $1 Million with many millions following. Is this why he relates so well with workers struggling on ‘small’ paychecks? He counter punches with a comment that Clinton has had 30 years to make it right. Clinton was in state politics at this time, so he really meant 24 when she was FLOTUS?
Then Clinton delivered a knock down blow when she quoted Trump saying that in 2006 he wanted the housing bubble to collapse. This, in itself, would not be the knock down. Trump’s reply did the trick, “That’s called business, by the way.” Then, she knocked him down again with another of his quotes that global warming is a hoax perpetrated by the Chinese. Once again Trump delivered the final blow with his denial. Maybe he should take that quote off if his web site?
Then Trump got ‘smart’ and brought up TPP. But he blew it by bringing Obama into it. When he did that he threw the blame off of Clinton. Sad. Clinton introduces a bit of levity by saying she will be blamed for everything and Trump steps right into the trap by saying, “Why not.” Then, when it is Clinton’s turn to talk, Trump goes into his interrupt routine, because Clinton is not saying nice things about him so they must be lies. Then the question of Trump’s tax returns comes up. He sure had a lot of dubious reasons for not releasing them. Then he comes up with a brilliant idea. He will release if Clinton releases the 33,000 deleted e-mails. Of course the FBI is in possession of the server and they have already released 18,000 that they thought were work related. Then another knock down blow self inflicted by Trump. Clinton mentions the tax returns that are available show Trump paid no taxes and Trump says, “That makes me smart.” Then he said something that surprised me. He said that Clinton’s staff should not be able to take the 5th amendment.
He does support the Constitution, doesn’t he? Oh, of course, he believes that they are obviously guilty so should not be allowed the 5th.
Then the ‘birther’ issue came up and evolved to Trump denying rentals to people of color. What struck me as strange is that he appeared to justify his racism by saying that many other firms did the same thing. Then the question of cyber security came. Clinton answered the question and Trump talked about how ISIS used the internet and how his 10 year old son knew how to use computers. He didn’t appear to know what cyber security was. Then Trump was asked about domestic terrorism. He went on for 5 minutes and never mentioned domestic terrorists. But he did say he had much better judgement than Hillary. But when Hillary quoted Trump about having our sailors blow Iranian sailors out of the water and starting a war, for taunting behavior, Trump said that would not start a war. Much better judgement?
And the knock out blow was when Clinton quoted Trump concerning his misogyny. Trump denied he said any of it, even though it is on video. And when quoted about his statements concerning the Miss Universe winner he said, “ Where did you find this?” Is this really what you want to see in our President? So no, Mr. Wink, Hillary did put Trump away.

Bikes and cars
I agree with the statements of John Daniels in the September 29th Record-Bee.
It is very frustrating, challenging, and inconvenient to drive around Lake County during these bicycling events. They cause a safety hazard for both the cyclist and the driver.
Soda Bay Rd. is another road that is not designed for this type of event. There are no bike lanes. It is narrow and filled with a lot of curves. Of course slower speeds improves safety but there is no way of seeing what’s ahead around a curve. And then you come up on cyclists that ride 2 across in the lane. What are your options? Slow to a crawl or risk a head-on with an oncoming vehicle.
If bicyclists would honor ALL the rules of the road this would also help their safety and the driver.
There are no roads that I know of in Lake County that would support such an event. It is a hazard enough just driving.

Always digging
As you know Ron Rose is always digging for facts on just about anything you can think about. Guess what I have found out? The City of Lakeport may be using an ag well on the old Green Ranch to pump water in the City storage tank that supplies the Lakeport its drinking water. When that well was dug, ag wells did not require a seal. At this time ag wells require a 20ft seal. I could be totally wrong, but I believe I am right and I would like the City of Lakeport and/or Martin Scheel to answer my letter to the editor in writing so we all know the true facts.
I can remember way back in the olden days when a man named Michael Zaponie was the Mayor and Everett Owens was a Councilman, Randy that owned Lakeport Cleaners was a Councilman and Kenneth Petro was a City Councilman and in those days there was a war between the farmers of Scotts Valley and the City of Lakeport regarding the City taking water from the Scotts Valley basin for City use. At that time or a little later, the City Council agreed to pump water out Clear Lake, purify it and then pump less water out of Scotts Valley. Since that time I understand that the City is not using lake water because of purification costs, and instead forced the Green Ranch, under eminent domain, to sell approximately 8 acres to the City. The City and the ranch owner fought each other with their attorneys. The City won out because they were using tax payer money versus money from an individual. But in the end the City was the winner and they started using water from this ag well that does not have a well seal.
Now I am a fair individual if I am wrong you print exactly what I am wrong on because I feel these are things that all the taxpayers for the City of Lakeport should know to be true or false. Right now, unless I am proved to be otherwise, I know them to be true. I believe this is one of the reasons that the City pushed so hard to annex South Main/Soda Bay to the City. Because they needed the sales tax very badly so they could get the water hook up fees and the monthly water fees and the sales tax in the area from property owners like Jack in the Box, Clearlake Readi Mix, Sears, Mendo Mill, etc., and also running a U pipeline from Mendocino college back to the city limits.
So please let me know if what I am saying is factual or I am wrong and what I am wrong about.
