LOWER LAKE >> Playing their third straight game against a top-notch North Central League I football football opponent, the Lower Lake Trojans once again played well, but once again it wasn’t well enough to win.
After losing hard-fought games to Fort Bragg and Middletown the last two weeks, the Lower Lake Trojans couldn’t hold an early 6-0 lead and fell 26-6 to the St. Helena Saints on Friday night at Gordon Sadler Field.
“We had two or three opportunities after we were up 6-0 to add to that,” Lower Lake coach Justin Gaddy said. “We got into the red zone and penalties absolutely killed us. We shot ourselves in the foot. At the end of the day you’ve got to score points,” Gaddy said.
Nick Sani rushed for 156 yards to lead the Trojans (1-3 league, 2-4 overall).
