LAKEPORT >> Members of the Clear Lake Scullers enjoyed perfect weather and a calm Clear Lake on their annual “Row to Soda Bay Park” event. They started from their Lakeport Boatyard, just north of Library Park and rowed for an hour to the park, where they enjoyed a brunch buffet.
The Club welcomes new members and it is not necessary to be in great physical condition to learn to row with the group. Rowing clinics, for both adults and youth, are taught by well known college rowing coach Mike Sullivan every summer on our Lake, and rowing is available year round with the club’s equipment for members.
In addition to getting what many physical therapists feel is the best full body exercise, rowing Clear Lake offers astoundingly beautiful scenery at all times of the year and the opportunity to see fascinating wild life.
“My favorite moment happens when my oars dip into the water and the boat surges out into the Lake, that moment when my body is moving this boat through the water,” club member Lily Barry said.
