LAKEPORT >> Micah Dane Faulkner, 42, was not present in court for his Bond Hearing, nor was his defense attorney. Judge Stephen Hedstrom presided over the Bond Hearing as Deputy District Attorney Rachel Abelson was present in court as well.
The matter — felons in possession of weapons — remains under review and continued for an arraignment or exoneration hearing. Faulkner is defending four felony charges related to a handgun and stun gun. Faulkner was also charged with a misdemeanor for controlled substances.
The August incident occurred when Clearlake police officer Matthew Huot made a routine traffic stop on Old Highway 53 for a broken headlight. Authorities report that Huot noticed a .45-caliber handgun tucked in the center console of the vehicle, along with ammunition and a stun gun. The driver, Heatherraynne Mellissa Scott, and, Micah Dane Faulkner, are both convicted felons.
Faulkner allegedly admitted to possession of the weapon during questioning. The handgun had been stolen and Faulker reportedly informed police he purchased the weapon from an anonymous seller on the streets in Sacramento.
Faulker was also in possession of heroin.
During questioning, Faulkner allegedly admitted to possessing the stolen handgun, stating he had purchased the handgun from someone off the street in Sacramento.
The matter is continued to Oct. 12, for an Arraignment/Exoneration at 8:15 a.m. in Department Four.
