Gabe Collins (right), a karate student at Lake County Martial Arts in Lakeport, brought home a pair of trophies from a Golden State Karate Association tournament on Oct. 1 in Redding. Collins received trophies for his first-place finish in forms and a third-place finish in weapons. Other Lake County Martial Arts students honored were Joe Schofield for a second in sparring and Hunter Melvin (left) for fourth-place finishes in sparring and forms.
