Nice >> Construction is complete for the new multi-use sports field located at 6935 Hammond Ave., Lake County Public Services Department announced on Wednesday. The park now offers a multi-use sports field, parking area, bleachers and a new restroom.
A grand opening is scheduled on Oct. 21 at 10 a.m., and Jim Steele, District 3 supervisor, will present the new park additions.
“We are delighted to bring the community this professionally designed sports field that will provide yet another venue for physical activity and community building,” according to a statement by the public services department. “Hammond Avenue Park is an excellent example of the achievements that can be realized when people work together for the betterment of our communities.”
