FORT BRAGG >> For the record, it was the Lower Lake Trojans against the Fort Bragg Timberwolves in boys’ soccer action on Thursday at Fort Bragg.
In reality it was the Lower Lake Trojans and Fort Bragg Timberwolves against the weather as the two teams played to a 0-0 tie in a driving rainstorm.
“Yeah, it poured on us in both halves,” Lower Lake coach Javier Michel said. “It was impossible to do anything.”
Trying to stay upright was the goal of both teams in the North Central League I contest, according to Michel. Lower Lake is now 4-2-4 in league play, including 0-1-3 in its last four games.
Michel couldn’t even get out of town once the game ended as one of his players was taken to the hospital for a possible broken wrist, but X-rays revealed no break.
“It’s a bad sprain,” Michel said.
