Clearlake Oaks >> Lake County Milers Walking and Running Club will host the Vine to Wine Run at Cache Creek Vineyards on Nov. 6.
The 5K walk/run (3.1 mile) and 10K run (6.2 mile) will offer participants a scenic and somewhat challenging vineyard road experience among the vines and the surrounding countryside. Because Cache Creek Vineyards is in a mountainous area, participants in both distances will traverse varying terrain including some hills and witness views of the winery property on hard-pack vineyard roads and some trail.
The “Milers,” a nonprofit club dedicated to promoting physical fitness in Lake County, have chosen to support both Lower Lake High School and Clear Lake High School track and cross country with net proceeds from this event.
This event will be chip timed by NorCal timing and medals will be awarded three-deep (male and female) in 5-year age divisions. Participants will also receive a long-sleeve black T-shirt with the event logo (while shirt supplies last), a to-go wineglass and wine tasting tickets, compliments of Cache Creek Winery if you are 21 or older, and a gourmet hot lunch complete with dessert created by the Lake County Campus, Woodland Community College Culinary Program.
The current price for adults is $65 (ages 9 through 20 registration prices are discounted), prices will increase on Nov. 2 and 3, after which registration will close.
There is no race day registration, and the event will be held rain or shine beginning at 10 a.m. To register online go to www.runsignup.com/vinetowinerun. Questions can be directed to lakecountymilers@gmail.com.
