CLOVERDALE >> Victor Cacho is a marked man.
“He’s gotta get used to used to it,” Kelseyville High School boys’ soccer coach Eduardo Ledesma said of his star forward, who was shadowed by the Cloverdale defense everywhere he went on Tuesday during a North Central League I game at Cloverdale.
“They kind of stalked him. They didn’t let him do anything,” Ledesma said as Cacho was shut out of the scoring column while the Knights beat the Eagles 4-1 to improve to a league best 9-0-2 in the league standings.
“He got frustrated … he’ll get over it,” Ledesma said.
Cacho did work the ball to his open teammates and was credited with three assists.
Jesus Duarte scored the only goal of the first half and Kelseyville never trailed after that. Sergio Arias, Jesus Covarrubias and Damian Ledesma scored in the second half for the Knights.
“It was a well-fought game by both midfields,” Ledesma said. “We had our chances and they had their chances,” Ledesma said.
Kelseyville hits the road Thursday to play Fort Bragg at 5:30 p.m.
