MIDDLETOWN >> Not long after she became assistant curator of Lakeport’s historic Courthouse Museum, Whitney Petrey was assigned to monitor the cleanup efforts at Harbin Hot Springs in the wake of the Valley Fire.
By now, Petrey has compiled reams of fascinating information about the world-famous resort, from its earliest days to its plans for rebuilding. She will share some of that information at Gibson Museum’s Fireside Chat Sunday, Oct. 23.
Petrey’s presentations at other venues such as the Lake County Historical Society and the Lower Lake Community Action Group have been lauded by those who attended.
Gibson’s monthly Fireside Chats begin at the museum on Sunday afternoon at 3 p.m. and close around 5 p.m. Refreshments are offered following the question period.
As usual, the Oct. 23 Chat is free of charge, although donations toward the museum’s operation are welcomed.
Reservations are advised, as space is limited in the small gallery.
Middletown’s Gibson Museum is located at 21267 Calistoga Street, across the highway from Community Park.
