KELSEYVILLE >> The Kelseyville Knights had a whole lot more success corralling the Mustangs from Petaluma on Friday night than they did corralling the Mustangs from Middletown earlier this season.

Behind 90 yards rushing and two touchdowns from Patrick Mick, Kelseyville jumped back into the win column with a dominating 51-0 victory over St. Vincent, the newest addition to the North Central League I ranks this season.

Kelseyville (4-2, 6-2) bounced back from a 24-14 loss a week ago to Lower Lake by scoring 22 points in each of the first two quarters for a 44-0 halftime lead. The last-place Mustangs (0-7, 1-7) never got inside Kelseyville’s 20-yard line.

“We achieved the goals we worked on in practice,” Kelseyville coach Erick Larsen said. “We definitely made steps in the right direction.”

The Knights’ defense picked off four St. Vincent passes, recovered a fumble and registered three sacks. Logan Barrick picked off two passes all by himself and returned one 60 yards for a touchdown. On offense, Barrick passed for 46 yards, including a 21-yard touchdown pass to Scott Sanchez.

Mick and Dwayne Yiggins anchored Kelseyville’s running game. Yiggns finished with 63 yards and a TD.
