UKIAH >> The final racing weekend of the 2016 season takes place Saturday and Sunday at the Ukiah Speedway. Gates open Saturday at 3:30 p.m. and Sunday at noon.

Taco Bell bombers, modifieds, jammers, Late Models, Pro-4 modifieds and Legends cars will be in action as the Lakeport Ukiah Challenge, contested since mid-April, draws to a close.

“This was Northern California Racing Association’s 50th year of racing at Lakeport Speedway,” track promoter David Furia said. “It was a special season for drivers and fans alike. There were a lot of new elements brought to local racing and some of the classes got stronger throughout the year. I cannot thank the fans and drivers enough for supporting local racing. I look forward to some exciting changes next season. The crew and I will continue with the indoor kart racing at Lakeport Indoor Speedway next month. It never stops, it just changes.”

Main events in all divisions take place Sunday.
