Clearlake >> A convicted felon was reportedly found by authorities in a room where they also discovered a firearm, nearly an ounce of methamphetamine and more than a pound of marijuana Tuesday morning.

Police began searching for Clarence Hall, 40, after responding to a disturbance in the area of the 15700 block of 37th Avenue at about 9 a.m. When officers arrived, the Clearlake resident had already fled, according to a report by Sgt. Rodd Joseph.

An unnamed women had reported several incidents of domestic violence over the course of the last two weeks, some involving a firearm, and still had injuries consistent with her claims, police stated.

Hall is currently on Post Release Community Supervision (PRCS) and is a convicted felon, Joseph said. The victim stated Hall had likely fled to a known address located in the 4200 block of Crandall Avenue.

While the investigation was still underway, several officers went to the address and learned from a resident that Hall was inside. He was taken into custody without incident.

While on scene officers conducted a PRCS search of the room where Hall was found, Joseph said. People who are on PRCS are subject to searches by peace officers with or without a warrant at anytime of the day or night. These PRCS searches cover them, the person’s residence, any vehicle under their care and/or control and any place the person is found or has access to.

Officers located a loaded handgun, a replica firearm, approximately 20 grams of suspected methamphetamine, more than a pound of processed marijuana in two different bags and two digital scales, Joseph said.

Hall was ultimately charged with felony domestic violence, felony assault with a deadly weapon, felony terroristic threats, felon in possession of a firearm, felon in possession of ammunition, felony possession of marijuana for sale, felony possession of a controlled substance for sale, felony armed with a firearm during the commission of a felony, misdemeanor exhibiting a replica firearm and a misdemeanor violation of PRCS. Hall was later booked into the Lake County Jail.

The case will be referred to the Lake County District Attorney’s office for charges.
