LAKE BERRYESSA >> A handful of high school teams from the Lake County Fishing Club were among a field 56 teams participating in a tournament Sunday at Lake Berryessa.

One of those seven teams, Sheldon Reese of Clear Lake High School and Thomas Humphrey of Lower Lake High School, placed fifth with 9.75 pounds. They were accompanied by boater Jimmy Reese.

Another Lake County team, William Plubell and Austin Oranje of Lower Lake High School, finished seventh with 8.75 pounds. They were accompanied by boater Steve Monson.

Also competing from Lake County were the teams of Cooper Goff and Joey Mendonca of Kelseyville High School along with boater Clay Van Housen; Mikelynn Rowe and Tate Smith of Lower Lake High School along with boater Frank Jocksch; Nathan Phillips and Jason Gentle of Kelseyville High School along with boater Steve Phillips; and Mathew Gomora and Omar Juarez of Kelseyville High School along with boater Kelly O’Ward.

“I would like to thank the boaters that took the time out of their schedule to come and be a boater for these up-and-coming anglers,” said Deanne Goff of the Lake County Fishing Club.

Boaters are still needed for the club’s second annual tournament Nov. 6 on Clear Lake. If interested, call Goff at 245-4833.
