The Southern California attorney and former president of the American Mock Trial Association paid a visit to Lake County to provide training to students. Upper Lake and Middletown teams spent the day learning court strategies and techniques that will help them in their court proceedings at the county and state competitions later this school year. Among the topics discussed were the power of the pause, how to use your voice as a weapon and the importance of being prepared. Coach attorneys Jon Hopkins, Judy Conard and Michael Friel joined school coaches Alex Stabiner and Kevin Palotti in the training as well as court liaison Melissa Perry.
