CLEARLAKE >> The Clearlake Police Department reports that a man arrested for a 2015 Clearlake bank robbery has been convicted and sentenced to prison. A second suspect awaits a January court date.
Samuel Campbell received almost six years — 70 months — in prison from a federal court. In addition, Campbell will serve five years under supervision after release and will be required to pay restitution of more than $3,000 to the bank.
Campbell, 25, and an unnamed female suspect were involved in a July, 2015 gunpoint robbery at Bank of the West on Olympic Drive in Clearlake. Detectives and officers with the Clearlake Police Department began an investigation, later joined by the FBI, that identified the pair.
The FBI tracked Campbell and arrested him in Flint, Michigan in October of that year.
CPD Sgt. Rodd Joseph said the department wished to formally thank the bureau for their efforts in apprehending the pair.
