KELSEYVILLE >> The St. Vincent Mustangs simply overwhelmed the Kelseyville Knights, rolling to a 7-1 victory in the opening round of the North Coast Section Division III girls soccer playoffs on Wednesday evening in Kelseyville.

The sixth-seeded Mustangs (15-4-1) led 3-1 after the first half and padded their lead with four more goals in the second half. They will play No. 3 seed Technology(17-4-2) in the quarterfinals on Saturday at 7 p.m. at Rancho Cotate High School in Rohnert Park.

Kelseyville closes out the season at 8-7-5.

RUP 4, Clear Lake 0

At Santa Rosa, Roseland University Prep shut out the Clear Lake Cardinals in the opening round of the Division III playoffs, ending the Cardinals’ season.

Roseland University Prep advances to the quarterfinals on Saturday and will play No. 1 seed Sonoma Academy, the three-time defending section champion.

Arcata 2 ,Lower Lake 0

At Lower Lake, Arcata blanked the Lower Lake Trojans in the first round of the Division I boys playoffs, ending the Trojans’ successful first season under head coach Javier Michel.

Arcata moves on to the quarterfinals and will play No. 1 seed Urban of San Francisco on Saturday.
