Lake County students in grades 4-8 who are looking for something different and exciting to do might well consider joining the Rocket Club. This free club meets weekly on Wednesdays from 4:30 to 6:30 at the Taylor Observatory in Kelseyville. Rocket Club members get to build their own rocket, learn about principles of flight and aerodynamics, explore possible careers in the space and flight industry and, most importantly, launch their own rockets in a thrilling blast of glory. No previous experience with rockets is necessary and parents are always welcome to attend Rocket Club meetings.
The Lake County Rocket Club has been in existence for six years and is sponsored by the Lake County Office of Education. The Children’s Museum of Art and Science is also a partner in providing this unique opportunity for our youth.
Call Bill Bordisso, Rocket Club Head Rocketeer, at 279-0923 to enroll or if you have any questions.
