LOWER LAKE >> Watch the stars shine on Nov. 18 when Lower Lake High School brings back many of its former greats for alumni girls and boys basketball games at the new gym. Action begins with the girls game at 5:30 p.m.
The event is a fundraiser for the school’s basketball programs.
Among the alumni scheduled to play in the girls game are sisters Katie (Class of 2003) and Veronica (2011) Wilder, both 1,000-point scorers during their Lower Lake careers, April White (2012), Cheryl Horner-Christenesen (1997), Lily Cuellar (1998) Billie Bowles (2000), Niki Emberson (2001), Nicole Wylie (2002), Latoya Fortino (2005), Chelsey Nicole (2008), Ashlee Hernstedt (2009), Jonesha Beasley (2011), Zobee Miller (2014) and Ashly Alexander (2014).
The list of alumni for the boys game, which takes place after the girls game, includes Chris Richardson (1991), Joe Hughes (1994), Ed Fuchs (1997), Dvonce Sloan (2003), Donald Miller (2004), Eric Freeman (2004), Joe Noel (2004), Xavier Miller (2005), Derek Counts (2009), Quin Udy (2011), Zane Kazaka (2013), Brandon Avelar (2014), James Clark (2015) and Robert Calderon (2015). Other possible participants include Marlon Jones Sr. (1990) and Mike Lujan (1996). They will be coached by Tim Biasotti.
Freeman is Lower Lake’s second all-time leading career scorer among boys with 1,295 points. Only Vince Alderman has more at 1,672. Katie Wilder-Thomas scored 1,121 points during her career and younger sister Veronica finished with 1,048.
Admission is $7 and a snack bar will be in operation throughout the two games.
