The gift of rest

Matthew 11:28 says, “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.” And this is the week to seek rest and rejuvenation, after the craziness of the election season. For those who feel particularly oppressed and over-worked, don’t just sit at home and mope…come and release your burdens on the One who cares!
First, on Saturday at 1:00, we will be celebrating Marv Hanson’s life and his graduation into the Father’s presence. Following will be a reception in the Community Center. Please come and share your love and respect with the Hanson family.
Second, Sunday morning at 10:00, we will gather for our worship service, led by Doug Andre. This is the third week of our Year of Being Constantly Re-formed.
Sunday afternoon, at 2:45, we meet at Rocky Point Skilled Nursing Center in Lakeport for gospel singing. If you haven’t been there, you’ve missed out! At 6:00 Sunday evening, the Lake County Ministerial Assn. Thanksgiving Service will take place at Galilee. This is an hour of song and prayer, praise and petition. The offering will go toward the Lakeport Homeless Warming Center. Congregations and musical groups from around the lake will participate. Don’t miss this opportunity to connect with our brothers and sisters from Lake County! An excellent way to put yourself in a state of “rest” before beginning the new week.
And finally, Tuesday night, at 7:00 pm, we meet for Bible study in the conference room.
