Wreaths Across America (WAA) has helped honor the memories of Veterans buried at Hartley Cemetery during the holiday season since 2006. Kelseyville Cemetery, Lower Lake Cemetery, Upper Lake Cemetery and St. Mary’s Cemetery all have since joined with the efforts to remember and honor our Veterans all around the county. The wreath-laying ceremony to honor veterans on National Wreath Across America Day will be on Saturday, December 17 at 8:45 a.m. at each of the named cemeteries.
Boy Scout Troop 42 in Lakeport, Boy Scout Troop 45 in Kelseyville, the Lake County 4-H Group and FFA will be accepting donations for wreaths until November 27th and the date is coming up fast. Individual sponsorships cost $15 for one wreath, couples cost $30 for two wreaths and the family option costs $60 for four wreaths, small business can fund 10 wreaths for $150 and corporations can sponsor 100 wreaths for $1,500 or any amount can be sponsored for $15.00 per wreath.
Last year over 2,200 wreaths were placed in Lake County. Sponsorships can be made at Lakeport Tire & Auto Service, 1901 S. Main St., Lakeport or you can call 263-5422 and we will fax or email you a sponsorship form.
