The Kelseyville Business Association (KBA) has outdone themselves again this year. Thanks to organizer, Mary Morse, a half dozen members of the KBA, Team Riley and community service students from Kelseyville High School, downtown is lit up and looking like a postcard perfect picture of Christmas in the Country. Lights and garland above every shop on Main St. and trees lit from the floor to the sky. A sparkling bridge welcomes you into town and our street lights have all been dressed for the season. Who wouldn’t want to be here on Dec. 2 for our 24th annual Parade of Lights and Merchant Open House?

The little ones can take their picture with Santa at Westamerica Bank after the lighting of the tree at the Fire Station and you will be invited to enjoy free cookies, hot chocolate and/or cider at any of the down town businesses. Kelseyville Presbyterian Church will be serving homemade chile and chowder for a very reasonable donation and St. Peters Catholic Church will be serving up hotdogs and beans. Down the street, Saw Shop Gallery and Bistro will be sharing a Christmas quilt display while across the street the United Methodist Church there will be caroling and refreshments.

Indoors at Westamerica Bank they will be celebrating the season and welcoming families with live music by The Bridge Band and the gourd artwork of Linda Kelly will be on display as well.

This event is as much fun as you can have without leaving town. Come on out and say hello to all of your favorite neighbors and friends!

Applications for the Light Parade will continue to be accepted until Friday Nov. 25 but spaces are going fast! Pick yours up at Kelseyville Appliance, Umpqua Bank or Westamerica Bank. For more information please call Mary Morse at 707-279-8559.

The Kelseyville Business Association is 70 members strong this year and very proud of the contribution that they have been able to make towards keeping our downtown a clean, safe, inviting place to work, play and visit. Members have been responsible for keeping the trees trimmed, the lightposts painted, purchasing and installing the flags and poles that line the streets of Kelseyville on all the right occasions, as well as hosting activities like Kickin’ in the Country, playing a huge part in the annual Pear Festival and the much anticipated Bacon Festival in the works for June 2017
