A car went off the Hopland Grade on the Mendocino County side around 11 p.m. Thursday night, temporarily halting westbound traffic. No one was in the car when rescue units from the Hopland Fire Department arrived and an initial California Highway Patrol search revealed no one in the immediate area. The car’s emergency flashers were on as it rested on its roof. The investigation is ongoing, although law enforcement officials had not provided an update at press time. – Brian Sumpter — Lake County Publishing
