The Clear Lake Cardinals are looking to sophomore center T.J. Marcks to beef up their inside game this season. Marcks certainly made a good first impression on Tuesday night when he scored 13 points and pulled down seven rebounds, five of them on the offensive boards, in a 68-57 victory over Rincon Valley Christian in a North Coast Section Foundation Game in Lakeport. Perhaps most impressive of all was Marcks’ seven-for-seven night from the free-throw line. With junior center Lucas Stahr currently sidelined with a broken bone in his hand, Marcks is the Cardinals’ go-to guy inside. Clear Lake’s official season opener is Thursday night against Sonoma High School in the opening round of the Stokes Tournament at Kelseyville.
