Holiday Dance Party featuring Will Siegel & Friends, December 3
Will Siegel and Friends, will perform for a Holiday Dance party Saturday December 3, at Bartlett Hall, 499 Leslie Street in Ukiah from 7:00 to 10 p.m. Whether he is sideman or band leader, Will Siegel has mastered the art of bringing musicians and their audience together. Eclectic in style, his experience has grown from nearly four decades of playing for northern California venues. His dance bands always deliver infectious rhythm that keeps audiences on their feet. Musicians include, Steve Baird, Les Boek, Ellie Siegel, Tom Aiken and Kevin Aiello. Special guest vocalist Marilyn DeFrange will also perform.
Gourmet appetizer platter assortments with decadent desserts will be included in the price of admission. A no-host bar with wine and beer from a variety of local vintners and microbreweries will be available for purchase as well as a large array of raffle items. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. Tickets are $15 in advance, $20 at the door and are available at Mendocino Book Company, 102 south School Street in Ukiah and at the USC Administration Office, 499 Leslie Street, Ukiah and at www.ukiahseniorcenter.org. On Saturday, December 3, from 2:00 — 3:30 p.m., join with other community members in sharing experiences and insights of this most challenging and inspiring life transition: Death and Dying. The Death Café is open to all and isn’t based on any particular belief system or philosophy. Bunko Benefit, December 12
An evening of Bunko will be held at Ukiah Senior Center’s Bartlett Hall, 495 Leslie Street, on Monday, December 12, from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Admission is $12, which includes a Bunko game, prize and fabulous food and beverages. Everyone wins a prize. There will prizes suitable for Christmas gifts Bring a new friend and both of you will receive an extra entry for the door prize drawing, as well as $2 off admission. Caregiver Support Series, December 21
This free series of informational videos continues on Wednesday, December 21. This series will be presented on the third Wednesday of each month from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the Ukiah Senior Center Administration Bldg., 499 Leslie Street in the RDHDC Conference Room 8. Redwood Caregiver Resource Center will present training on Alzheimer’s for family members and professionals. Facilitator, Alexis Glidewell, MSW,will show and discuss the video. “Choice and Challenge: Caring for Aggressive Older Adults Across Level of Care.” This film demonstrates helpful strategies for minimizing fear and resistance to help with areas of personal care.
