UPPER LAKE >> Leading the Upper Lake High School varsity volleyball team to one of its best seasons in years, senior setter Natalie Karlsson and junior outside hitter Christina Wilson were recently honored on the All-North Central League I first team as selected by a vote of the league’s coaches.

Karlsson and Wilson were two of four Upper Lake players to emerge from the All-League meeting with some type of honor. Senior right-side hitter Isabel Rorabaugh landed a spot on the second team while junior libero Briana Binns received an honorable mention.

Upper Lake won 11 of its 14 league matches to place second behind undefeated NCL II champion St. Vincent High School of Petaluma. St. Vincent seniors Sarah Calabrese and Alexandra Fetter shared league most valuable player honors.

All six of St. Vincent’s starters were honored on the first team.

Upper Lake finished 16-5 overall under head coach Raelene Cromwell and qualified for the North Coast Section Division V playoffs as an at-large team, losing to Berean Christian of Walnut Creek in a first-round match.
