LAKE COUNTY >> Leland Cervelli, a youth football player for the Kelseyville Chiefs, has been invited to participate in the Diamond Youth All-American Games the week of Jan. 13-16 at Murrieta Mesa High School in Murrieta.

The top youth and middle school players in the country have been invited to participate, including about 350 players from throughout California.

The event provides a showcase for youth and high school players by bringing these athletes into the national spotlight. It also provides an outlet to showcase their talents to coaches from high school to college.

Cervelli, 9, played running back and linebacker for the Kelseyville PeeWee squad in 2016. His father, Donnie Cervelli, submitted a game tape of his son in action and Diamond officials responded by inviting him to the game.
