UKIAH >> The Fremont Tigers, a Division I playoff team a year ago, had their way with the Lower Lake Trojans in the first half and rolled to a 77-47 win Thursday night during first-round varsity boys action at the 49th annual Fred Iten Invitational Basketball Tournament in Ukiah.

“They were super big … they were really big,” Lower Lake coach Shannon Tubbs said. “Their size and athleticism were pretty impressive.”

Fremont led 18-7 after one quarter and 34-10 at halftime.

“We made some adjustments at the half and played some basketball in the second half,” Tubbs said. “It was our first game and it’s hard to simulate game speed in practice. We’ll get better.”

Logan Carlson and Hokulani Wickard led the Trojans with 13 points apiece. Jerome Watson added seven points and Jordan McGrath had six.

Lower Lake draws Fort Bragg today at 5:30 p.m. in the consolation semifinals.
