CLEARLAKE OAKS >> On Friday law enforcement officials identified the woman killed in Thursday morning’s shooting as Theresa Brown.
Although the suspect in an incident that left three others wounded, Ezequiel Bravo, was reportedly not forthcoming in answering investigator’s questions in the aftermath, authorities on Friday were able to piece together more of what transpired in Clearlake Oaks that day.
According to Lt. Corey Paulich, Bravo is alleged to have forced his way into the Elem Drive home of Robert and Stephanie Brown at approximately 2:16 a.m. following an apparent domestic dispute. The Browns are parents of Bravo’s estranged wife.
“Bravo was at the residence attempting to locate his wife,” Paulich said in a press statement.
Once inside the home, Bravo shot and killed Theresa Brown, identified as his wife’s aunt. Additional shots left Robert and Stephanie Brown wounded. The fourth victim — his wife’s 6-year-old neice — also suffered a gunshot wound.
Paulich reported that, although injured, Stephanie Brown attempted to call for help, rushing outside. Bravo raced after her and forced her into his vehicle at gunpoint.
“Bravo then went back into the residence,” Paulich said. “Stephanie was able to take Bravo’s vehicle and drove herself to the hospital.”
Moments later, Bravo fled in the Brown’s van. He abandoned the vehicle on Pomo Road, a short distance away, and continued on foot.
The subject of an intensive manhunt, Bravo was spotted at 9 a.m. entering Pomo Elementary School grounds by a school official. He contacted law enforcement and officers from the Clearlake Police Department made the arrest without incident.
Bravo faces charges of murder, attempted murder, kidnapping, assault with a deadly weapon and assault with serious bodily injury.
He is being held on bail of $1 million dollars.
