COLUSA >> Freshman Hank Nevarez did his best Russell Westbrook impersonation on Friday night as the Upper Lake High School junior varsity boys basketball team beat Willits 63-33 in the consolation semifinals of the Clear Lake Tournament in Lakeport.

Upper Lake (2-1) plays Kelseyville (0-3) today at 2:30 p.m. in the consolation championship game.

Nevarez finished with a triple-double of 12 points, 16 rebounds and 12 steals. Chris Fecht led the Cougars with 15 points and Dylan Armstrong added 13.

K’ville 35, Fort Bragg 24

Robert Chavez scored 11 points and Joey Mendonca had 10 as the Kelseyville Knights (1-2) beat Fort Bragg in the consolation semifinals, their first victory of the 2016-17 season.

Trailing 19-17 through three quarters, the Knights pulled out the win with an 18-5 fourth period.

“We held them without a field goal in the fourth quarter,” Kelseyville coach Gus Schillinger said.

Cooper Goff had six points for the Knights.

Clear Lake 64, St. Helena 26

Clear Lake advanced to the championship game with a win over St. Helena. No other details were available at press time.
