UKIAH >> Even though Fort Bragg is missing most of its roster because of the school’s involvement in the football playoffs, the Lower Lake Trojans still had a tough time beating the Timberwolves on Friday night in the consolation semifinal round of the Fred Iten Tournament in Ukiah.

Lower Lake won 48-45 behind 12 points each from Ethan Watson and Hokulani Wickard and 11 from Jordan McGrath.

“It was a rough, rough night,” Lower Lake coach Shannon Tubbs said. “It’s early and I’m hoping it gets better. Fort Bragg was way undermanned tonight.”

Lower Lake (1-1) took a 42-34 lead into the fourth quarter but Fort Bragg made it close down the stretch.

The Trojans play Maria Carrillo today at 2 p.m in the consolation championship game at Ukiah High School.
