Voters sent Jose “Moke” Simon to the Board of Supervisors for District 4. He will be joined by the District 1 winner, Tina Scott. The top three in the count for Clearlake City Council were Nick Bennett, Joyce Overton and Phil Harris, who easily cleared the other rivals. In Lakeport, George Spurr held the third spot by a narrow 17.9 to 17.6 percent over Ted Mandrones.

Kenny Parlet returns to the Lakeport City Council at the leading vote-getter. Tim “Cheese” Barnes came in second.

On the national and state level, Lake County favored Hillary Clinton for president over Donald Trump. For the vacant U.S. Senate seat, voters supported Kamala Harris by a wide margin over Loretta Sanchez.

Local votes helped John Garamendi and Mike Thompson return to Washington and send Cecilia Aguiar-Curry to the California Assembley to serve the 4th District.
