At Pebble Beach, Stevenson High School’s up-tempo offense found the range on a baker’s dozen worth of 3-pointers in a victory over the Kelseyville Knights during third-round play at the Stevenson Tournament.
“They play an up-tempo offense and pressure you on defense,” Kelseyville coach Scott Conrad said. “They have five or six kids who can really shoot it.”
Stevenson didn’t waste any time jumping all over the Knights (5-2). It was 17-7 after one quarter and 39-18 by halftime.
“We allowed them to control the tempo,” Conrad said. “That’s never a good thing.”
The majority of Stevenson’s 3-pointers were contested shots, according to Conrad.
“Most of them were deep and we had a hand up,” he said. “They take a lot of threes. That the style of game they play and they live or die by it.”
