ORLAND >> Orland High School has probably had enough of the Kelseyville Knights this season.
Orland fell 71-25 to Kelseyville in the winner’s semifinal round of its own tournament on Friday night at Orland High School, setting up tonight’s championship game between Kelseyville and Cloverdale at 6:30 p.m.
The Knights beat Orland 59-34 earlier this season at the Stokes Invitational in Kelseyville. During that same tournament, Kelseyville defeated Cloverdale, the team it will face again tonight, 69-37 in the finals.
“The girls were locked in defensively,” Kelseyville coach Jim Hale said. “They were very focused.”
As were Alma Perez and Payton Conrad when it came to attacking the basket. Perez finished with a team-best 24 points while Conrad added 18, including four 3-pointers.
“Conrad played a really good overall game,” Hale said of his sophomore guard, who had a team-high eight steals and five assists.
Kelseyville trailed Orland 9-7 in the first quarter before going on a 16-0 run to take a 23-9 lead by quarter’s end. Conrad led that charge, according to Hale.
“We were on a pretty good run there,” Hale said.
Haleigh Meyer also had 10 points for the Knights, now 8-1 on the season.
