Come and become more familiar with the Bible, in a group, sharing insights with others on Wednesday evenings at 6:30 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall of the United Methodist church located on the corner of First Street and Clover Valley Road in the town of Upper Lake. The fellowship hall entrance is located on the north side of the building between the church and the parsonage off Clover Valley Road.
The first evening Bible study class will start on Wednesday, January 25th. Pastor Bob will take us on a journey as we travel with Mary and Joseph to Bethlehem while we study the book of Matthew which takes up the birth of Jesus, describes his baptism, his ministry, preaching, teaching and healing in Galilee. The Gospel according to Matthew goes on to record the events of Jesus’ last week, culminating in his crucifixion and resurrection which will take the class through the last chapter of Matthew. Due to our Ash Wednesday evening service the group will not meet on March 1st.
Check the bulletin on Sunday to see what verses will be covered for each Wednesday study group so that you can read the chapters that will be discussed prior to attending the class. The first class, on January 25th, will cover the first two chapters of Matthew. Bring your questions and/or thoughts to share with the other attendees. While the content of most studies is aimed at adults, teens and children are also welcome to attend. It will be up to the parent(s) to decide if the topics to be covered are appropriate for their child. No child care will be provided.
Please join us. This class is not tied to any denomination. All are welcome.
