KELSEYVILLE >> Tickets are now on sale for the 11th Annual Wine and Chocolate fundraiser, benefitting the Lake Family Resource Center. The event showcases Lake County’s award-winning wineries and many other community partner organizations.

“This is more than a fundraiser, it is a Lake County event that attracts people from outside the county to taste our local wines and enjoy chocolate and savory bites from local restaurants,” said LFRC project coordinator Mike Stajura in a prepared statement. “This is one of but a handful or major Lake County wine events, and we’re grateful to be part of it.”

The event features 24 local wineries. There will also be two workshops. Chacewater Mill Master Emilio de la Cruz will share his insights during an olive oil sensory workshop and Sommelier Stephanie Green will conduct a workshop on the secrets of successfully pairing wine flavors with food.

Along with chocolate provided by local organizations, there will also be a silent auction.

Lake Family Resource Center is a nonprofit organization that provides social services. They operate the county’s only domestic violence shelter. They operate the county’s only Early Head Start program for children aged 0-3 years old. And they operate the 24-hour Community Crisis Line and the Rape Crisis Center.

The center provides counseling services for adults and children who have been abused or neglected (in addition to fire recovery counseling). They also train and support parents in a variety of ways.

“We can do these things only thanks to our many wonderful partner organizations and supporters,” Stajura said. “We work with government, private, and nonprofit entities to provide basic needs as we strengthen our Lake County community one family at a time. Your support directly supports our clients.”

Tickets can be purchased in advance for $50 at http://www.lakefrc.org/special-events/. Tickets will be sold at the door for $60. Tickets can also be purchased at LFRC’s Kelseyville office or the following locations: the Lakeport Chamber of Commerce, the Wine Studio, and Steele Wines.
