UPDATED:

Deadline is today

The Affordable Care Act (ObamaCare) is still in place and available to you, despite Congress’ intention to repeal it. You have until January 31, 2017 to sign up medical insurance through this program. Tuesday is the last day of the open enrollment period this year. You might not know this, as the Trump administration pulled $5 million in ads off the air, even though we, the taxpayers, have already paid for them. Considering the impending repeal of the Affordable Care Act, I believe it is absolutely critical that folks sign up for a major-medical plan before the deadline — the plans for the replacement are unknowns, and the Affordable Care Act is still on for 2017.

Why do I care whether you have health insurance? Well, I spent several years of my work career as an Eligibility Worker in the Medi-Cal program. What stands out to me from that experience is that I never took a Medi-Cal application from a person who just decided to come in and get some free health insurance. Instead, every application I processed was because the applicant, or a loved one of the applicant, had critical unanticipated medical needs, and either did not have the money to pay for the needed care, or had exhausted all their savings and now had to reluctantly turn to the government. People I met with were fearful and distressed.

You don’t have to be that person. You can still get covered for this year if you act fast. But, your time is running out.

Really?

Let’s dissect Cynthia Tuckers column in the RB 1-21-17

“We have officially entered the age of Trump, an era that maybe the most contentious and most dangerous to the health of the republic since the Civil War.”

He hasn’t even been in office one day and he is going to end the World? Really? If this was a right winger talking about President Obama it would be labeled as hate speech!

“We are two nations of nearly equal count divided by opposing views on race, religion, pluralism, sexual orientation, feminism, and even science.”

You cannot say this about every Republican because it is not true! The only reason we are two nations is because of people like you who spout hate speech to keep the nation divided. In fact, I think this nation would be less divided if it weren’t for people like you and to you on the left that eat this garbage up, shame on you! This is not what America is or what the majority of American’s are.

“HRC, had she become his (pouts) successor would have been confronted with a disloyal opposition that had already promised to embroil her in partisan investigations and spurious law suits.”

When James Comey laid out the six points against HRC, there were at least 12 former DOJ attorneys that said they could successfully prosecute her on these charges. Bill Clinton’s meeting with Loretta Lynch in Phoenix should be charged as obstruction of justice! And The Clinton Foundation, if looked at legally would be brought up on various charges. They spend more on travel than giving money away. Hopefully Justice will prevail. I am tired of politicians on both sides getting away with this kind of crap.

“Instead, one half of the nation (less than half actually) has elected a man who will only widen the chasm that divides us.”

Again, you don’t know that, he hasn’t even been in office a day, but you will sure widen the chasm with columns like this.

“President Donald Trumps campaign was a bold testament to the power of fear and hatred, etc., etc., etc. And he blasts the news media. He will continue to salt our civic wounds, inflame our differences and fuel our sense of grievance.”

“Fear and hatred,” you mean like your column! It’s people like you that fuel the hatred on the left. President Trump’s campaign was “Make America Great Again,” that isn’t hate, that’s hope for everybody.

“Already, a sense of regret has settled over the Country.” Only in your mind and column!

“President Bush’s ill-advised invasion of Iraq, which destabilized the middle East and led to the rise of the Islamic State group.”

No Cynthia, it was President Obama’s hasty retreat after we won the war that destabilized the Middle East and it was President Bush that warned you it would happen with a complete and early withdrawal and you cannot tell me our intelligence people couldn’t see ISIS pouring across the empty desert to invade Mosul. President Obama was directly responsible for ISIS and the refugee problem he created. “The Perfect Storm” that is ISIS!!

“Just wait until President Trump’s new Supreme Court tries to roll back gay rights.”

You have to be joking! This has to be the farthest thing from reality ever. Do you think any SCOTUS would repeal the Gays Civil Rights? This is nothing more than fear mongering.

And President Obama only served 300 working days out of 3 years as a Senator, and he spent the last year campaigning, and that made him a perfect choice to be President?

Numbers game

The Presidential election wasn’t just Trump vs Clinton. The election had candidates from six different parties involved, Republican, Democrat, Libertarian, Independent, Green and Constitutional and according to Wikipedia 135,703,014 votes were cast for President on November 8th, 2016.

65,845,063 votes were cast for Clinton and the continuation of the Obama doctrine (48.5 percent) while 69,857,951 (51.5 percent) votes were cast for someone other than Hillary Clinton and the Obama doctrine, therefore, more voted against Hillary and the Obama doctrine than for.

That means over a majority of voters rejected Hillary and Obama and in a democracy majority rules and the majority had its say and that majority is us.

So Trump won the Electoral College as prescribed by law and Hillary did not receive a majority of the total votes cast. Period!
