I support President Trump
I support our President Trump’s immigration ban and extreme vetting of Muslims because Islam outside the United States is not secular and not a true religion as we know religion. The majority or eight out of ten Muslim living outside the United States answered a Pew Research Center poll agreeing that Shia Law should be the law of the land. That means they would replace our constitution with the barbaric Shia Law including its second class status and persecution of women. Freedom of religion in Islam under Shia Law means only the right to convert to Islam or it is death or extremely high taxes.
Islam as practiced in Muslim countries is not a true religion, it is a religionist, political, civil movement that seeks to be judge and jury of all things in society. We must consider Islam a subversive movement and subject all members of Islam to extreme vetting. Exceptions should only be on a case-by-case bases. Those who believe the immigration ban is against religious freedom or ant-immigrate do not understand the far reaching designs of Islam and its politics. Wittiness the Islamic country of Iran and its restrictions in civil law, education, women’s rights, and commercial affairs. The free flow of Muslims into this country without knowing each individuals politics and goals is allowing them to use our constitutional freedoms to destroy our country.
Yes, I believe President Trump may be a bit unpolished, but he is not concern about political correctness, he is my President, and he has the right path to security for our country.

Love the Lakeport Library
There is a hidden gem in Lakeport, a special and yet humble place on the corner of 15th Street and High Street. That place is the Lake County Library. This place is quiet but most definitely speaks with force and eloquence to all who enter its’ glass doors in both warm and cold weather. It is a welcoming womb, a sacred repository of knowledge in the form of physical books as well as access to the digital realm of the Internet, DVD’s of movies and television and books on CD, as well as newspapers and magazines. To the old, the young and all in between, all who seek to learn and to renew and to encourage their spirit, are welcome here.
I have been privileged to work here since May 2016, in a temporary position, and I serve as a “page” . A page is a humble shelver of books. When the books come in, they end up on carts up next to the front desk, after being checked in. My job is to take the books and ferry them to their homes back on the many shelves of the library. This has been a steep learning curve for me, as to where things are: the hold shelf in front, the public computers, the new books shelves, Books on CD, the fiction books all the way in back along the wall, non-fiction in the stacks in back, biographies, Spanish books, large print books, Mysteries, Westerns and Sci-Fi, along with reference books and periodicals and DVD movies. The children’s library is separate, behind glass windows and has a full array of fiction and non-fiction, as well as learning to read books and picture books. For fun, the little ones enjoy some learning toys, especially mazes and cardboard bricks, which have created many forts on the back carpet! Miss Barbara leads her wonderful Story Time twice on Fridays, much to the delight of kids and parents.
I find this library to be a wondrous place of inspiration and solace. Education is not only found in four walls and a classroom. The amazing thing about this library is how thoroughly it is used and enjoyed. From PH.D’s to those who have rather learned through the school of hard knocks, all are welcome here. If you struggle to read, there are kind literacy volunteers who will help you learn to put the letters together so they make sense. You can also look at books in the kids library, enjoying simple math books , science books poetry or crafts, simple recipe books or even Dr. Seuss and Mo Willems or that Wimpy Kid or Dav Pilkey’s latest adventure of cheekiness.
My humblest gratitude goes to my wonderful colleagues who work here, in a labor of love to provide this place to all who enter: Christopher Veach, our exemplary County Librarian for all Lake County; the four dedicated and caring women who person the main desk: Amy, who is kind and gentle, Jan, who is our resident scholar, Miss Barbara, who is beloved by so many children and their Moms, for her uproarious Story time, and my friend Christy, who is a bright smiling and cheery presence from the Millennial Generation. While I occasionally help out at the front desk, my colleagues are the best and they are always ready to help and assist. The wonderful volunteers are also a most efficient and caring bunch and their help is invaluable in keeping all the details covered.
I want to in a heartfelt manner, encourage all who come to the Lakeport Library, to never forget how much this staff does to help everyone, and how much is a true labor of love. The library budget is not a huge one and I know Christopher works miracles with what funds he has to use. I sincerely encourage all who can, to donate funds as you have the ability, to the Friends of the Lake County Library. These total lovers of all things book, are dedicated to helping the library raise very much needed funds for all the many things the library needs, for the well-being and blessing of us all. It is truly a group and community effort.
