LAKEPORT >> Darius Ford hit his first seven shots from behind the 3-point arc on Tuesday night as the Clear Lake High School junior varsity boys basketball team blasted Lower Lake 79-36 to complete a perfect run in North Central League I action.

Clear Lake won all 14 of its league games this season and none of them were close. The Cardinals’ smallest margin of victory was 12 points at Middletown on Jan. 6. They scored no fewer than 59 points in any of their league games and had 71 or more five different times.

Ford finished with a team-high 22 points, including 7-for-8 from 3-point range. Brady McGuire added 10 points. Ford was the seventh different Cardinal to lead the team in scoring during a 24-2 season.

Clear Lake opened the year with six straight wins before losing to Middletown 52-47 in the first round of the Record-Bee Hoop Classic at Kelseyville. The Cardinals won another three in a row before suffering their final defeat, 65-44 to Centers in the semifinals of the Falcons Shootout in Colfax. They ended the season on a 15-game winning streak.
