The Lake County Republican Women (LCRWF) met Feb, 8 for their monthly luncheon meeting at Howard’s Grotto, Clearlake.
President Marcia Chauvin opened the meeting with a presentation of a check to Ginny Craven, founder of Operation Tango Mike (which in military speak means Thanks Much) to help the organization continue sending packages to our military service people overseas. Craven explained that packages are tailored to the individual recipient and that Tango Mike also helps local families of the military.
The featured speaker, being a veteran, also donated his speaking fees to Tango Mike.
Featured speaker was Peter M. Friedman, NRA Training Counselor, NRA Law Enforcement Handgun Instructor, LEOSA HR218 Firearm Requalification, CA BSIS Guard & Firearm Training Instructor, NRA Pistol, Rifle, Shotgun Instructor. Friedman explained to a very interested audience of men and women the maze of regulations facing California gun owners. There are many Senate and Assembly Bills passed in recent years that have received little publicity. All gun owners or anyone thinking about owning a gun must become informed of and comply with all regulations. There are also many fees that must be paid by the gun owner during the process of registering guns and ammunition.
LCRWF meet for lunch with a featured speaker the second Wednesday February through November. For information on membership or attending call 707-994-3543.
