LAKEPORT >> An investigation of a mid-February robbery led the Lake County Sheriff’s Office to a home in downtown Lakeport yesterday morning, resulting in four arrests.
The warrants and subsequent seizure of the property, located in the 800 block of Central Avenue, came about after LCSO deputies viewed casino footage of a robbery that took place at a card table. Three individuals, working in tandem, stole from the victim’s purse.
Official reports state one of the arrested individuals sat next to the victim, slowly pushing the purse away from the table. A second suspect eventually reached in and stole $1,500 in cash undetected thanks to the third suspect, who authorities allege appeared to be on look-out duty.
Deputies recognized the suspects as Fabian Rosales-Reyes, Raymond Casillas and Carlos Casillas, three known and “validated gang members” with a history of violent crime, according to official reports.
LCSO’s Special Weapons and Tactics, Gang Task Force and Major Crimes divisions seized the property early yesterday morning, executing their arrest and search warrants. Upon arrival, they arrested the three suspects and Damian Rosales-Reyes, who allegedly resisted arrest and obstructed the search.
In a statement issued on Wednesday authorities said they found “items related to the theft” on the property, as well as methamphetamine and other gang and drug paraphernalia.
Rosales-Reyes, Carlos and Raymond all face charges of grand theft, conspiracy to commit a crime and participating in a criminal street gang. Authorities placed Rosales-Reyes on a no-bail hold, while Carlos was held on $40,000 bail and Raymond was held on $50,000 bail.
They also arrested Damian Rosales-Reyes for his charges, but his official booking has not taken place as of Wednesday afternoon.
The four men may face additional charges based on the search of the house, especially in regards to the obtained methamphetamine.
The report concludes with a request for any other information about the arrested individuals. LCSO Detective Shamus Stafford currently leads the investigation.
