OROVILLE >> The Kelseyville Knights suffered through a second straight shutout loss, this time at the hands of the Las Plumas Thunderbirds during non-league softball action on Wednesday afternoon in Oroville.

After dropping an 8-0 road decision to Windsor on Tuesday, the Knights fell 12-0 to the Thunderbirds (5-4-1) in a game that was called after 4 ½ innings because of the 10-run rule.

Kelseyville starter Allison Bryant lasted just two innings, leaving the game with soreness in her shoulder. She exited with the Knights trailing 2-0. Las Plumas broke the game open with a six-run bottom of the third and added four runs in the fourth to go up 12-0.

The Knights (2-2) had just two hits, singles by Riley Goff and Grace Davidson. Goff moved from shortstop to pitcher in the bottom of the third inning and finished out the game.

Kelseyville’s defense had a rough day and finished with five errors.

“We’re not playing very well in the field and we’re not hitting the ball well,” Kelseyville coach Jeff Bour said.

The Knights hit the road again on Friday for a non-league doubleheader at Fort Bragg beginning at 1 p.m.
