KELSEYVILLE >> Raymond McLeod went 3-for-3 with a triple and two RBIs and Austin Navarro went 3-for-4 with a triple and two RBIs to power the Kelseyville High School junior varsity baseball team to an 18-4 non-league victory over the visiting Upper Lake Cougars on Thursday afternoon.
The game was halted after 4 ½ innings because of the 10-run rule.
Tyler Linnell belted a tape-measure two-run home run to right-center field during a 17-run Kelseyville second inning.
“The ball landed in the softball field,” Kelseyville coach Mike Davis said.
Kelseyville batted around twice in the bottom of the second, sending 20 batters to the plate before the inning ended.
Knights starting pitcher Alex Carpenter worked four innings for the victory.
“He kept the ball down and pitched really well,” Davis said.
Bryan Newberg finished up in the fifth, striking out one.
Cooper Goff went 2-for-3 with two RBIs for the Knights (3-2), winners of three in a row.
Kelseyville is home Wednesday to play Healdsburg at 4 p.m.
