FORESTVILLE >> Middletown High School’s junior varsity baseball team improved to 5-0 on the season with a doubleheader sweep of the El Molino Lions on Saturday in Forestville.

Middletown won the first game 13-6 and completed the sweep with an 18-11 victory in the nightcap.

In game one, Aiden Skinner pitched 4 2/3 effective innings in relief to notch the victory and he also led the Mustangs at the plate, going 4-for-5 with a double and a RBI. Jaiden Trueblood went 3-for-4 with a double and three RBIs, Drake Harbison went 2-for-4 with a double and three RBIs, and Jon Hoogendoorn went 2-for-4 with two RBIs. Noah Brown also had two hits for the Mustangs.

In the slugfest that was the second game, Will Chastain was the winning pitcher in relief as he worked 2 1/3 innings and struck out four.

Skinner, Hoogendoorn, Nico Barrio, Isaac Perez and Cameron Luis contributed two hits apiece in the win. Perez also drove in three runs and scored twice. Trueblood and Brown each drove in two runs.

Middletown is scheduled to play in Healdsburg on Friday at 4 p.m., weather permitting.
