LAKEPORT >> The inaugural Lakeport Sprint Boat Grand Prix is set for June 2-4 just offshore from Library Park in Lakeport.
Six classes of race boats competing at speeds of up to 140 mph will be featured along with local racer events. The boats will compete on a triangular course anchored by the Fifth Street boat ramp to the north and the Third Street boat ramp to the south. Racing hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The event is sanctioned by the Southern California Speedboat Club and presented by Twin Pine Casino & Hotel.
