MIDDLETOWN >> A Middletown man was arrested Thursday after law enforcement officers found child pornography in his possession.
Lee Daniel Buckmaster is being held without bail in the Hill Road Correctional Facility.
A tip from the Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) server led to the arrest. On Thursday the Lake County Sheriff’s Office Major Crimes Unit received word from ICAC of a known or suspected child pornography transmitting material online.
“Detectives received the suspected child pornography photographs along with other information to assist in identification of the suspect,” said LCSO Lt. Steve Brooks in a statement issued on Thursday.
Investigating the tip, detectives quickly learned that the account holder was Buckmaster, who had previously been arrested by the Major Crimes Unit for a similar offense during an investigation in October 2015.
Detectives were aware that Buckmaster was on probation as a result of the previous case.
Working quickly, detectives contacted Buckmaster in the 21000 block of Pine Street in Middletown and conducted a probation search.
According to Brooks, items linking Buckmaster to the child pornography were located and he was placed under arrest for possession or distribution of child pornography, possession of child pornography with a prior conviction and a violation of probation.
He remains in custody.
