ST. HELENA >> Tianna Jardstrom won two events and Camille Donald picked up a first and a second for the Clear Lake High School girls during a season-opening track meet on Wednesday at St. Helena High School.
Jardstrom finished first in the 800 meters with a time of 2 minutes, 41.2 seconds and first in the 1,600 with a time of 6:02.7.
Donald topped the field in the long jump at 14 feet, 11 inches. Her second came in the 200 at 27.2 seconds.
In the varsity boys’ division, Chris Carrizales finished fourth in the 100 (12.1), fifth in the 200 (25.1) and sixth in the long jump (16-0). Ethan Wynacht added a fourth in the 3,200 (12:36) and an eighth in the 1,600 (5:32).
Also for the Cardinals, Juan Carlos Flores was fifth in the shotput (34-4).
In the frosh-soph division, Ramone Uribe led the way for Clear Lake with a first in the 100 (11.9) and a second in the 200 (24.9). Seth Mix also picked up a first in the shotput (38-10).
Other second-place finishes went to T.J. Marcks in the shotput (37-2) and to Ethan Schuder-Schulman in the 400 (1:04).
Taking home thirds were Felipe Sturr in the shotput (35-8 ½) and Cole Saiz in the 3,200 (13:07).
Kelseyville, Lower Lake and Middletown along with host St. Helena also participated in the meet but no other Lake County results were reported.
Clear Lake’s track teams return to action April 12 in Kelseyville. Clear Lake will host the Lake County Meet on May 8. It was originally scheduled for March 22 but postponed because of wet conditions.
